"This is my most favorite Hipcamp, the setting was like a state park, the host was very welcoming. Sites vary between Forest camping and Orchard camping... Incredible views and enjoyed walking around the land. Definitely will stay again when I'm in the area."
"We loved Hurlys Hideaway! Mark provided a comforting and safe environment to camp. He even has the sweetest dog that roams around and says hi to everyone... At first when you pull into the slot it looks like you're lost loll, but go up a small trail and there's such a cozy secluded oasis waiting for you!"
"This piece of land is absolutely stunning! I woke up to a lovely apple orchard the next morning and watched so many deer pass through. First time I've ever seen an apple tree, too! As a solo traveler, I felt safe and secure. 10/10 experience - thank you again, Mark!"
Hurlys Hideaway sits approximately 2 miles from the town of Tillamook on timber land with some clearings - a mix of dense Oregon Coast forest, a working apple and Asian pear orchard, open meadow, a small pond, and views across the valley. Sand Lake is close by for fishing, kayaking, and swimming. Netarts Bay, Oceanside, and Cape Meares are about 4 miles west. The land is quiet and well-spaced so you won't notice other campers.
If you're coming from town, head 2 miles west of Tillamook hospital on Hwy 131 and look for the purple Minnesota Vikings bus shack. There's also a Hipcamp sign just up the driveway. Coming from the south on Fraiser Road, turn right when you hit Hwy 131 - you're less than a quarter mile on the left. Auggie the black lab and Jinx the cat are the welcoming committee.
